Brihottoro Mymensingher Gunijon

Adhuna Prokash and Biography foundation, Bangladesh arranged the book launching ceremony followed by a discussion session and cultural programme, which featured renowned radio and TV performers.

In the opening speech, Saki Anwar said, "It is a book about the celebrities of greater Mymensingh district. It was tedious traveling around the six districts of greater Mymensingh and collecting the biography of the celebrities. The book focuses on the lives of 169 celebrities."

The chief guest of the event, Director General of Bangla Academy, Professor Abul Kalam Manzur Morshed unwrapped the book and said, "The mystical bards and poets originate from the greater Mymensingh region. We are very hopeful and fortunate that Saki Anwar selected this area for his experimental work."

The programme was presided over by Abdul Majid Bhuiyan, while eminent poet Al-Mahmud was the special guest. Poet Al-Mahmud said, "I am very pleased to see such creative work. There may be conflicting views about the selection criteria of celebrities but undoubtedly it is a very tough job. As a young writer, Saki introduces us to a group of celebrities and this group should be enhanced for the sake of the new generation."

Saki Anwar now plans to write a book on the late celebrities titled Brihottoro Mymensingher Gunijon: Shoronio-Boronio.
