Buddhadeb Dasgupta back with his third feature film
Madhuri, who is set to begin her second spell as an actress since her marriage to US-based doctor Sriram Nene and becoming the mother of a son, has confirmed her appearance in Dasgupta's yet-to-be-titled film. The shooting is likely to begin in October this year. The film, reportedly based on an unpublished story by Dasgupta, portrays the powerful character of a woman trying to make her own mark and independent identity.
This will be Madhuri's third foray in an art film. The others in this genre, distanced from the mainstream Hindi commercial movies , are painter-cum-director Maqbool Fida Hussain's Gaja Gamini (in which she played the lead role) and Prakash Jha's cross-over film Mrityudand.
Meanwhile, Madhuri, who had wowed the audience by her performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's mega-budget film Devdas a couple of years ago, is believed to be in demand from a number of commercial film directors including Raj Kumar Santoshi.
