Children's theatre movement makes strides

Underprivileged children perform in the play Muskil Asan

About 200 under-privileged children from Tejgaon rail station area were involved in a three-month long theatre workshop. After the workshop they staged a play titled Muskil Asan. Shapla Shishu Theatre and Golap Shishu Theatre were formed with children as members. At Chairmanbari 35 children were selected to form Nabin Shishu Kishor Theatre. The group is currently rehearsing the play Putul to be staged on November 8. "The children's theatre movement has generated much curiosity and excitement among the slum-dweller children," asserts Liaquat Ali Lucky.
