'Chobi Mela IV' to begin next month

A press conference was held at Drik Gallery on October 14 to address the upcoming international photography festival, titledChobi Mela IV.The festival will begin on November 9 in Dhaka and will run throughout the month. Most of the renowned galleries in the city will be involved in hosting the festival.

Director of Chobi Mela IV, Shahidul Alam, conducted the proceedings of the session while Rezanur Rahman, coordinator and Tanvir Murad spoke at the conference, according to a press release.

Works of noted photographers of Bangladesh and other countries including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Argentina, UK, USA, Czech Republic, Romania, Singapore, Thailand, France, Germany, Indonesia, Netherlands, Croatia, Norway and South Africa will be displayed at the festival.

Forty seven exhibitions featuring over 1000 photographs will be held during the festival. The venues include The British Council, National Museum, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Bengal Gallery, Alliance Francaise, Goethe Institut, Russian Cultural Centre and Drik Gallery.

Some of the leading photographers will be conducting workshops in the course of the festival.
