The contribution of global personalities to our Liberation War
Bangladeshi intellectuals such as poet Nirmalendu Goun, Professor Mahmud Shah Koraishi, Afsan Chowdhury, Nasiruddin Yousuff and Dr Azfar Hossain will evaluate their contribution to the war.
For his active participation in the war, Wooderland, won the Beerpratik title after the Independence. And he is the only foreigner to win this rare honour. Freedom Fighter Nasiruddin Yousuff, the president of Sammilito Sangskritik Jote, will talk on Wooderland in the programme.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Closely associated with Andre Malraux, Mahmud Shah Koraishi will talk on Malraux's contribution during the War. Malraux requested the then US President Nixon, not to send any troops in favour of Pakistan and against the Bangladeshis during 1971.
Nirmalanda Goun will talk on his friend poet Allen Ginsberg. Poet Allen Ginsberg wandered around the refugee camps in 1971 and wrote an evergreen poem titled September on Jessore Road, which features the struggle of the war affected people.
Dr Azfar Hossain, who taught 'Comparative American Culture' in USA as a faculty of Washington State University, will evaluate the impact of the Concert for Bangladesh, in which many renowned singers of the world such as George Harrison, Bob Dylan and Joan Baez showed their solidarity for the Independence of Bangladesh.
Moreover, Afsan Chowdhury, the author of Muktijuddho 1971, will evaluate the contribution of the foreign press during our Liberation War.
