Cruise and Kidman: War or peace?

The Herald Sun quoting a British paper reports that Nicole stormed up to Cruise after losing the Best Actress award to Charlize Theron and said loudly, 'Can you please stop sending me those stupid...text messages!' Cruise also retorted angrily by saying, 'Not here, Nicole.'

'It all happened so quickly. Nicole went up to Tom and it looked like they were just going to have a catch-up chat. But Nicole had an ice-cold look on her face,' an onlooker was quoted as saying. He added, 'She grabbed his hand, squeezed it and then started telling him that she was fed up with his texts and wanted them to stop. Tom made it clear that it was neither the time nor place for such a conversation. He didn't want to be drawn into a public slanging match.

'Everyone was talking about it afterwards. It's not every day you get the biggest names in Hollywood bickering like teenagers.'

However, according to another version, Cruise and Kidman met before the awards and made a pact to find a quiet spot away from the arch-lights to spend few moments together. Interestingly, the Top Gun star had come to the ceremony not with his sweetheart, Penelope Cruz but his mom, Mary South and The Hours beauty was also accompanied by her mom, Janelle.

A partygoer reportedly told The Sun, 'Nic and Tom didn't arrive together but they had no hesitation in joining up once they were inside the awards and away from the cameras'.

Meanwhile, after missing an Oscar nomination Nicole is going back to Sydney where she will stay for some time before starting work on her new movie, The Interpreter.
