Cultural activists lend a hand for Mujibur Rahman Dilu
Renowned cultural activists have jointly given a fund-raising call for the treatment of Mujibur Rahman Dilu. The acclaimed theatre activist is now critically ill at the BIRDEM Hospital. He was attacked by a rare viral disease called Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) on June 30, 2005 in Kolkata while on a cultural assignment. On July 16 he was moved to Dhaka.
He has also cerebral viral attack besides GBS. He is currently on a ventilator. This disease, is however reversible and often lingers for long and the treatment is expensive, says a press release.
Anybody interested in contributing towards the treatment of Dilu should send their contribution to Savings Bank Account No.18-2663430-01 with Standard Chartered Bank. Dilu has an online banking facility in the name of his wife Rani Rahman. The SWIFT address of the bank is SCBLBDDX, which is applicable for quick money transfer in the account from anyone residing abroad.
