Cultural evening of Bishwa Kala Kendra

Twenty-six students from the second batch and 30 students from third batch received their certificates at the graduation ceremony on completion of a two-month course.

The programme was divided into two sessions. In the first session Bishwa Kala Kendra honoured veteran orator Kazi Abu Zafar Siddiqui. Professor Syeda Feroza Begum, chairperson of Bishwa Kala Kendra presented a crest to Siddiqui. The chief guest of the ceremony Kh M Harun distributed certificates among the students.

In the second session, the cultural programmes started with Anjali loho mor sangeetey, a song by Kazi Nazrul Islam. One of the main attractions of the evening was a mixed presentation of songs and recitation by the students of the organisation-- Daam Diye Kinechhi Bangla. The presentation features centuries of bloody struggle of the Bengalis against the oppression of British rulers and the Pakistani junta. It reminded the audience about the price we had to pay in achieving our Independence. The audience burst into applause after the commendable performance.

The programme later continued with a poem recitation by students of the organisation.
