Cultural scene abuzz in N'ganj
The sixth convention of the Narayanganj branch of the cultural organisation, Udichi Shilpi Goshthi began with the sloganDurdiney Darao Aji Shahoshey Shangrameyat the Ali Ahmed Chunka auditorium of the city on Friday last. Veteran social activist Hena Das inaugurated the convention. The council session got off the ground after the members brought out a colourful rally. Later, in the discussion session and prize distribution ceremony, the chief guest was theatre activist Ramendu Majumder. Bratachari dance and dance dramaNadi O Ratrir Gaanwere staged on the occasion. Mymensingh Zilla Udichi performed Baul songs.
Organised by Oitijyo, a 14-day-long book fair also began at the Ali Ahmed Chunka auditorium of the city on Friday last. The slogan of the fair is Gyan anandey metey otho Bangladesh, Boi utshabey metey otho Bangladesh. Cultural personality Rafiur Rabbi inaugurated the fair. The fair is open to all from 11am to 8pm everyday till September 16.
