Dance drama by Bangladesh Ballet Troupe

The Bangladesh Ballet Troupe performed a dance drama titled Battle of Bangladesh at Central Kochi Kancha auditorium, Shegunbagicha on June 10. The dance troupe sought to project the true essence of the historic Liberation War of Bangladesh. Amanul Haque, the writer, musician and choreographer of the dance drama, portrayed various aspects of the war: the genocide, atrocities perpetrated by the Pakistani Army on the common people and the emergence of Bangladesh. Dulal, Rubel, Nitu, Bannya, Elma, Nupur played the lead roles. Among others were Shukhen, Linda, Juliet, Ava, Shumon, Arif, Pran and others.

Ahmed Nazir, director general of Shipakala Academy was the chief guest while Dr Sultana Nigar Chowdhury, chairperson of the history department of Titumir College was also present.
