Dance festival begins in Khulna
The three-day Dance Festival-06 began in Khulna yesterday. Organised by the Khulna Unit of Bangladesh Nritya Shilpi Sangstha, the festival featured top artistes of Dhaka and other divisions of the country.
The three-day festival includes a press conference, seminar, symposium, colourful rallies and a reception.
Four colourful rallies were brought out on the first day from Abbasuddin Academy in the city. The rallies were led by the central president of Bangladesh Nritya Shilpi Sangstha, Rahija Khanam Jhunu. Five famous dance artistes of the country were awarded Rashaduddin Smiriti Padak in a function at the Zia hall. This was followed by a cultural function.

On the concluding day of the festival on June 7, a seminar on problems and prospects of the art of dancing will be held at Zia Hall.
