Discussion and music mark the second day

Renowned educationist and economist Professor Muzaffar Ahmed presented a paper titled 'Education System: Expectation and achievement of the Liberation War.'

"The aim of the Liberation War of Bangladesh was to liberate its people from any oppression and discrimination. However, because of the manipulation by the politicians of the post-Liberation War the aim of the Liberation War has not yet been fulfilled. And education system is one of the most affected sectors of the manipulation," he said.

"Though English as the medium of mainstream education system was repealed just after the Liberation, the 'English medium kindergarten schooling system' was introduced the same year. Thus began the discrimination in the schooling system, " he said.

After his thoughtful discussion, renowned singer Rezwana Chowdhury Banya appeared on the stage and rendered songs. She began her performance with a patriotic song O aamar desher mati. Then followed other songs: Tomari tore maa, Chhi chhi chokher jole, Amar hiyar majhe, O je mane na mana and Fagun hawayay.

Acclaimed singer Subir Nandi began his presentation by rendering DL Roy's Oi mahashindhur opar theke. Later he presented a few other patriotic songs.
