Jahangirnagar Theatre", a cultural organization of Jahangirnagar University, presented a play Doshora August (2nd August) at Mukta Mancha on recently. This was done against fundamentalism and was arranged by The Jahangirnagar University Sanscritic Jote (JUSJ). The play was based on the successful victory of the general students to fight against the wrong doers on 2 August 1998. The aim of this play is not only to recognise the students of the glorious victory, but also to grow the awareness among them about the power they posses to fight against evil.

The playwright Rajan Nandi, writes about a group of people who become Liviathans by achieving the total power. This play is not against any particular party or Ideology, but against the impact of selfish power, which creates unsatisfactory leaders. However, the repetition of some of the dialogues decreased the aesthetic value of the play.

Saiduzzan Chayan the director of the play, applied the narrative technique, but could not do it adequately. The performers were unable to coordinate with each other. They followed the Corneille's conception of "what's better than an empty space", in the case of set design. However the light designing was the worst part in the play.

The actors Jussi, Nila, Pallabi, Aphrodite, Debashis, Limon and Rupak played enthusiastically, which satisfied the audience of two thousand.
