Durga Puja with T-shirts

The T-shirt titled Mymensingh Geetika is another magnificent piece designed by Bahar Rahman, the proprietor of Nitya Upohar. 'The motif is based on an illustration of an old book,' said Bahar.

Popular graphic artist Dhrubo Esh also designed two T-shirts on this occasion. The T-shirt, titled Durga -- with the profile of the goddess, her folded hands and a red circle carried an inner meaning. This creation is also done on a beige framework. However, his second design is more interesting for this occasion. In the grayish blue T-shirts are the silhouettes of the four famous Beatles with a slogan I Want to Tell You. This can easily be appreciated by the young music freaks or even the nostalgic adults who once rocked with the songs of The Beatles.

One may question the relevance of this piece to Durga Puja. However, Bahar Rahman, the proprietor of Nitya Upohar, has an answer. To quote him, 'Durga Puja has a universal appeal for every Bangalee. And it's not necessary that we should always use the traditional motifs of the goddess. Rather, I hope the Beatles T-shirts will definitely add more festivity and joy to this occasion.'
