Egarosho Unonabbai: A play featuring the peasant rebellion

Wahedul Azam Tipu's play, Egarosho Unonabbai, is set in the backdrop of the peasant rebellion against the oppression of the East India Company in the Bangla year 1189 (1782 ad). Egarosho Unonabbai however, is not the story of oppression of the British on the natives, rather the play is a narrative of an ordinary peasant leader Nurul Deen's courage to revolt against the oppressors as well as his urge for the ultimate freedom.
