The stage, decorated with Ganda flowers, a huge portrait of Tagore and green plants all over, had a soothing effect on the on lookers. The second session of the musical programme organised by Bangladesh Rabindra Sangeet Shilpi Shangstha was held on Friday last, to mark the 62nd death anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore. About 90 Tagore artistes performed in the two sessions of the programme.

Eminent artiste Kalim Sharafi, Tapan Mahmud, Anup Bhattacharya, Mita Haque, Naima Ali, Sajed Akbar sang in the morning session.

The evening session started with Bishnu Mandal singing Bodhu tomay korbo raja. Deepa Paul sang Bhara thak smriti shudhay. Uttam Saha, Shama Ali, Mamun Jahid Khan, Farhat Hossain, Satya Chakravarty, Amina Ahmed, Abhijit Chakravarty and others sang many popular songs of Tagore.

The programme was lively but started an hour later than schedule. Such practice is unacceptable to all.
