An evening with poetry

Swanan (Dhaka), one of the well-known recital organizations of Bangladesh staged a recital performance at the Natmondol Auditorium of Dhaka University last Friday evening.

Swanan (Dhaka) started its journey in 1985. So far they have performed several recital performance in Dhaka on themes like "Bhoy Bhenge Jege Otho Chaity Shundor", Konya-Jaya-Janani".

A solo performance of five prominent recital artists delighted the audience in the jam-packed auditorium.

The theme of the program 'Je Kotha Boli Bare Bare' comprised popular poetry of Bangla literature.

The program started with the mellifluence of flute as Ananya Laboni recited from the pages of Jibanananda Das's popular poem "Nadi". Nazmun Nahar Ratna, Aditi Sadia Rahman, Faiyaz Murshid Kazi and Maskur- e- Sattar Kallol carried the program with their solo recital of well-read poems of Tagore, Syed Samsul Haq, Shahid Qadri, Rudro Mohammad Shahidullah, Nirmolendu Goon, Abu Zafar Obiadullah, Shahidur Rahman, Shuvash Mukhopadhay, Humayun Ahmed and others.

The program lasted for one and half-hour as the five performers recited 27 popular poems one after another with corresponding music and colourful lighting. The show came to an end as one lady with a light came out on the stage from the audience, breaking the silence of darkness.
