Exhibition of Henry Moore's prints
As a sculptor Henry Moore has represented Britain at different international festivals and won prestigious awards such as the Venice Biennale (1948) and the International Sculpture Prize. In addition he is also a prolific printmaker.
Between 1931 and 1981 Moore produced 719 graphic works. The 26 lithographs on display at Bengal Gallery, which began on December 8, have been selected from the magnificent gifts of over 200 prints that the artist donated to the British Council in 1984 to mark the 50th anniversary of its founding.

Lithographs such as Ideas for Metal Sculpture, a series of six lithographs, Three Sculptural Forms and Ideas from a Sketchbook are basically drawings for sculptures.
Seated Figure and Reclining Figure also present Moore's potential of wonderful caricature.
Ultimately, the exhibition gave Bangladeshi art lovers a chance to get better acquainted with Henry Moore.
