The movie was screened as part of a Korean film festival. Welcome to Dongmakgol was the other film screened yesterday. Other films to be screened during the festival are Marathon and My Tutor, My Lover. All films are being screened at Sufia Kamal Hall at 10am and 12pm.
A workshop titled 'Rural Development in Bangladesh and Korea' will be held at BRAC Centre tomorrow as part of the Korean Cultural Festival. Jointly organised by KOICA-Bangladesh Alumni Association and the Korean Embassy, the workshop will feature noted speakers and panellists discussing issues in rural development in Bangladesh with some highlights on South Korean experiences.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Korean Speech Contest will be held on October 19 at the auditorium of Institute of Modern Language, Dhaka University. Ten contestants will demonstrate their proficiency in the Korean language through narration of interesting stories. Gold, silver and bronze awards will be presented to the winners. A fashion show featuring traditional Korean costumes will follow the speech contest.
The festival will end with the 2006 Korean Cup Taekwondo Tournament. Taekwondo is a 2,000-year-old martial art for self-defence, focusing on the development and discipline of both body and mind. About 30 million people practice this sport in more than 140 countries now. The tournament will be organised by Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation. The tournament will be held in Uttara Club on November 10.
