Films to celebrate birth anniversary of Satyajit Ray and Rabindranath Tagore
The High Commission of India will screen the popular films of Satyajit Ray and two other films based on stories of Rabindranath Tagore by contemporary directors next month.
Starting from May 2, the Satyajit Ray Film Festival marks the birth anniversary of the legendary personalities--filmmaker Satyajit Ray and Nobel laureate poet Rabindranath Tagore.
The showcase includes Satyajit Ray's famous movies such as Kanchenjunga, Jana Aranya, Nayak, Sonar Kella and Charulata, while it also has Rituparno Ghosh's Chokher Bali, Tapan Sinha's Atithi--both based on stories of Rabindranath Tagore.
