Four aspiring singers make it to ATN Taroka finals

Mohammed Rezwanul Haque
Rezwan, upcoming singing talent and a student of Department of Music, Kolkata University says, "I am most comfortable singing songs with a classical base like khayal. The competition is really tough. I want to perform to the best of my abilities. I am from Gaibandha district. My parents have been very supportive. I have been learning music from a guru Anwarul Haque in Gaibandha. From ATN Taroka, I have learnt how to handle pressure and how to sing under acute tension. I know for sure that the exposure I am gaining from the show will propel me forward."

Mridula Samadder
Speaking on her aspirations, Mridula from Barisal says, "My mother encouraged me to be a singer. She wanted to live her dreams through me. I have worked hard. I don't think I would have gone up on stage with confidence if I didn't practice hard. On ATN Taroka, I try not to think about the competition. All of us will not make it to the top. So I just want to concentrate on my singing. The competition is stiff. It all depends on the public voting and judges' marks. I believe nothing is impossible in life. I know I can achieve my dreams."

Abdullah Al Obedi Shobuj
Asking about his rivals among the ATN Taroka finalists, Shobuj from Jaipurhat district says, "Rezwan, Mridula, Farhana and I are buddies. It's true that all four of us want to win the title. However, our friendship goes beyond competition. The feeling of being in the top four is beyond words. But if I don't win the title I won't lose confidence. In the show quite frequently we get to interact with stars from the music and media world and hope this enriching experience will help us overcome our weaknesses. I want to be a playback singer."

Farhana Parvin
Farhana, from Cox's Bazar, when asked if she is nervous about the grand finale, says, "I always get nervous when I get on stage. I am a bit amazed by my own success in making it to the best four. I recently sang Tagore and Nazrul songs at the gala round stage. The judges assured me and praised my performance. I have been singing since my childhood. Personally I feel I have improved a lot over the weeks. But right now I am concentrating only on singing for the ATN Taroka grand finale."
