Generating awareness against class discriminaton

The NGO has staged several cultural programmes, including folk songs (Baul and Jari songs), drama, dance and more since 2003. The objective is to realise the demands of the marginalised communities, denied by the civil society.

Vowing to eliminate discrimination from society and also to create awareness among the people, the NGO has already put up laudable programmes at villages in Tala, Dumuria, Paikgachha and Shyamnagar upazilas.

The artistes of the community staged a play, titled Amra korbo Joi (We Shall Overcome) on June 5 on the concluding day of the National Dalits' Youth Conference at Laxmanpur. The play depicted how the Dalits are being deprived of their basic rights and their struggle to eliminate discrimination. Chaitanya Das, Ashoka Das, Arabinda Das, Koushalya Das, Lipika Das, Mallika Das and others performed in the play.

The programmes went a long way in raising mass awareness about the prevailing inequity.

Paritran will arrange similar programmes at 12 different venues especially in the rural areas. The organisation will also arrange motivational programmes and rallies.
