Gregory Peck

The story of a legendary hero
Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck star in Roman Holiday
On June 12, 2003, Hollywood lost one of its greatest acting talents--Gregory Peck. For more than 50 years, he was a major presence in the theatre, television and on the big screen. Whether it was opposite Audrey Hepburn inRoman Holiday, the portrayal as General MacArthur in the film of the same name or the lawyer inTo Kill a Mockingbird, his characters are hard to forget.

His first two Hollywood films were as Vladimir in Days of Glory and Father Francis Chisholm in The Keys to the Kingdom. His role as the taciturn Scottish missionary was an outstanding success and brought him his first Oscar nominations for Best Actor.

While continuing to act on television and in Hollywood through the 1980s and 1990s, including a remaker of Cape Fear in 1991, he focused much of his energy on spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

He passed away at the age of 87.
