Happy Times International school celebrates its Silver Jubilee

Happy Times International School celebrated its 25th year of functioning at an impressive cultural function held at the Shaheed Zia auditorium of National Museum recently. The function was inaugurated by chief guest M. Morshed Khan, foreign minister of the People's Republic of Bangladesh and special guest Dr. Dilara Chowdhury, Professor, Department of government and politics, Jahangir Nagar University.

Ms Rahat Sarwar, principal of Happy Times International School, paid tribute to the students and teachers whose hard work has brought the school to its eminent position. 'Happy Times has succeeded in producing brilliant students," said M. Morshed Khan.

Students of different age groups took part in the function. The high points of the occasion were drama, Nazrul Sangeet, Rabindra Sangeet, dances of spring and winter, patriotic songs and band performances. The performances of the students were indicators of their love and respect for the nation and culture even in an era marked by its affinity for western culture.

The event also honoured the ex -students of Happy Times International school who have completed their O'levels in 2003 and achieved good grades with certificates and awards. Among the students, Faisal Khan and Khubaib Abdullah also won The Daily Star Awards 2003 for their outstanding academic performances. With the celebration of silver jubilee, Happy Times International School has also launched its school magazine.
