Healing the world musically

Divided in nine sequences, the whole piece was a presentation of the urge to protect the world and its environment from all damages for healthy living. Set at 'anywhere on earth' at present, Proud contains some dramatic interactions hyphenated by a number of musical pieces. The show included two very popular Bangla songs Aloker ei jharnadharay and Amra shobai raja into the menu to give the musical local flavour and also to embody the same concern of the Bangladeshi children around the world. The performers all wore costumes and make-up that symbolise the different nations of the world.
The first sequence was 'Proud', an international song proclaiming the young citizens' sense of being proud as the inhabitants of this earth. They describe the earth as a place that is illumined in light and invite all to the place through the Tagore song Aloker ei jharnadharay shobar nimantran. The sequence On the Day I was Born presents some gleeful acting of animals, like butterfly, lion, giraffe, cat and dog by the children.
The musical ended with the famous song of Michael Jackson Heal the World. The collective voice of the performers expressing the urge to 'make it a better place/For you and for me and the entire human race' truly exposed their love for the Earth.
The programme ended with the rendition of the National Anthem.
