Homage to Poet Jasimuddin

Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Minister Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Justice, formally unveiled the album and spoke on the occasion. He is also a member of the poet's family. Among others who spoke at the programme were eminent composer Azad Rahman, Mamun Mohammed Shah, manager, Personal Financial Services of HSBC, Jamal Anwar, Toufique Elahi and Dr Ashraf Sidiqui, folkore researcher, educationist and poet. The speakers dwelt on the bard's links with rural Bangladesh.

As homage to legendary poet Jasimuddin, the album is a collection of 12 songs. The songs included in the album are Nao anorey bhai, Pran shokhirey oi shono kodombo toley, Ami baiya jaiya kon ghatey, O bajaan cholo jai chol, Amar haar kala korlam rey and Jol bhoritey jaylo shokhi among other tracks.

The album has been sponsored by Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Ltd (HSBC).
