Any interesting experience during shooting?
We usually have quite a lot of fun on the sets of the ongoing popular comedy serial, Jhut Jhamela. I play the role of a very slow-witted and talkative girl. As the eldest daughter of the family everyone avoids her due to her nagging nature. She has a habit of talking about her husband who resides abroad. Once while shooting a scene with all the members of the family present in the living room, as soon as the director said "Action!" I started to deliver the dialogue. Seeing my amusing gestures, actor Intekhab Dinar began to laugh. Laughing is contagious and soon Romana started to giggle followed by others. The director had to retake the shot and finally the shot was okayed at the eighth attempt.

What if you were not an actress?
I would have been a singer, no doubt about that. I trained under Ustad Narayan Boshak in my childhood. I also took music lessons under Nazrul exponent Sohrab Hossain as a student of Chhayanaut.

Which is your favourite season and why?
Winter is my favourite. Although the soothing colour green is missing from nature during the season, winter attracts me the most. There is nothing more appealing than the blue sky of a misty morning. I always love to touch the cold dew on the green grass and feel it on my cheeks and forehead.

Dream role
I have a very long list of dream roles. The list will include Nazrul's Shiuli Mala, Rabindranath Tagore's Haimanti, Birajbou of Sharatchandra Chattyapadhyay, and also Madhobilata of Shamaresh Majumder's Kalpurush.

Who was your childhood hero?
My father has been my idol and hero all my life. I have not come across anybody so bold and charismatic. My father was my best friend in my childhood.

Any dream that came true?
I never thought that I would be able to return to the limelight after such a long pause. But I always wanted to come back and act in TV plays. So, when I re-entered the entertainment world in 2003 with the drama serial Lal Neel Beguni, the response from the audience was way beyond my expectations. I consider myself very fortunate that I still hold a special place in the hearts of the audience. Otherwise, it would have been very difficult to survive in the competitive environment of the contemporary entertainment world.

What is your most treasured possession?
My son.

Which is your best performance?
I have not done it yet.

Where do you see yourself 10 years down the road?
I will definitely continue my acting career on TV, especially in the character roles.
