Indian Idols regale Dhaka audience

"We got a huge response from Bangladesh which we didn't get from India," said Indian Idol artist Prajakta Shukre at a press conference on Sunday. Idols Abhijeet Sawant and Rahul Vaidya made similar observations.

And the concert was for a good cause. Former president of Rotary Club (Dhaka north) Lutfur Rahman Choudhury and the vocalist of the Prometheus band Biplob were also present at the press conference. Rotarian Lutfur Rahman Choudhury gave a speech on behalf of Rotary Club on this occasion. As he said, "The money which we earn from the concert will be utilised for underprivileged people."

Shapan Choudhury, the managing director of Antar Showbiz, also spoke on the occasion. "We like to give sound entertainment to the Bangladeshi people. We have been organising such programmes for the last 13 years," he said.

Yesterday's show, held at the Winter Gardens of Hotel Sheraton was the last in the Idol's itinerary in Bangladesh.
