ITI THEATRE FESTIVAL

'Tona Tuni put up an impressive show'

Ramendu Majumdar, the President of the ITI, Bangladesh and the chief of the group Theatre, is one of the organisers of the week-long ITI theatre festival and seminar entitled 'Celebrating Diversity' in Dhaka. He appreciates the production Toray Bandha Ghorar Dim by Tona Tuni. He says, 'They have successfully adapted Satyajit's rhymes to a wonderful dance drama. Particularly, Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul's music composition is excellent in the play. Tamanna Rahman's choreography is also up to the mark. So is the set and light designing. The show on the whole was very impressive.'

'Tirthonkar a standard production'

President of Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation (BGTF) and the chief of Aranyak, Mamunur Rashid thinks Tirthonkar by Shubachon Natya Sangsad is a standard production. Particularly, he highly appreciates young female stage playwright Samina Lutfa Nitra's script. He says, 'The way she has presented two characters of Sohrab and Rustam from the popular fable of Shahanama is stylistically very modern. After Einstein's great theory, the modernists try to overcome the limitation of time. They want that the theme of any art form should be applicable for all ages. In Nitra's Sohrab and Rustam, I find similar characters all around. The innovative style makes the play interesting.''
