Khalid Husain's solo recital at Nazrul Institute

Khalid Husain performed a number of songs like Tumi onek dile khoda, Keu bhole na, Oi ghar bholano shurey, E akhi jol mochho priya, Adho adho bol, Amare chokher isharay and Ashiley bhanga gharey. With occasional interludes of analysis of songs and interesting information regarding Nazrul songs, he entertained the packed audience. He also shared some of his interesting experiences by which he was moved in different periods of his life.

'Dhananjoy Bhattyacharya was my idol in my childhood. When in Kolkata I was truly eager to get a look at him at least for once,' recalled Khalid Husain. ' I knew that if I could manage to go inside the radio studio, I could meet my idol. There I met Dhananjoy Bhattyacharya, who asked me about my whereabouts,' said Khaled.

Later, Khalid met legendary artistes like Jaganmoy Mitra, Hemanta Mukhopadhyay, Surchitra Mitra, Salil Chowdhury, Utpala Sen, Kamol Dasgupta, Satinath Bandyopadhyay and Chinmony Chattapadhyay in his house.

Khaled has been performing Nazrul songs for the last four decades in stage and broadcast media. He has dedicated himself to the spread of the original tunes and creativity of the world of Nazrul songs.
