Krishno Gohbor: Focusing on martyred intellectuals

But have the masses forgotten about these gallant sons of the motherland? At least their families, near and dear ones have not. Every year, around this time, the families of the martyred intellectuals are reminded of the dark days and the loss of their beloved ones.

On the occasion of our Independence Day (March 26) ntv will air a three-episode docudrama on the eminent personalities martyred during the Liberation War.

The docudrama will feature the childhood, family life, accomplishments of the martyred intellectuals and the day they were abducted by the Pakistani army and their collaborators. The docudrama will feature episodes on journalist ANM Golam Mustafa, musician Altaf Mahmud and educationist/playwright Munier Choudhury on March 24, 25 and 26 respectively.

Noted actors have played the characters of the martyred personalities and the episodes will be presented by Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed, Aly Zaker, Shimul Yousuff.

Manik Manobik has done the dramatisation and Golam Sohrab Dodul has directed Krishno Gohbor. The docudrama is based on Smriti: 1971, a book published by Bangla Academy containing accounts narrated by family members of the martyred intellectuals.
