Lalon, the legendary mystic poet, is widely known for his Sufi lyrics and poems. Renowned filmmaker of the country Tanvir Mokammel's filmLalon, a film on the biography of Lalon, has won appreciation both at home and abroad. Tanvir Mokaamel has written dialogue and the screenplay of the movie. Rasiul Islam Asad performs in the role of Lalon.

On December 10, Mahfuz Anam, editor of The Daily Star, launched the CD and VCD of the movie at Russian Centre of Science and Culture, Dhaka. The welcome speech was delivered by Anjan Chowdhury, the managing director of Square Toiletries Limited.
