Lending a helping hand to Boyati

Organisers appealed to the affluent as well as to the government to come forward to help Boyati, who has been suffering since his stroke.

At the press conference the performer said in tearful voice that he wants to live and perform once again. He expressed his grief that no artistes show any curiosity regarding his present condition.

Eminent folklore specialist Dr Ashraf Siddique, former MP Monirul Islam, Shamima Barkat, president of PBSUS Ferdousi Najma and general secretary of the association MH Nayon, attended the press conference.

Speakers especially appealed to the present government to help the ailing artiste, since former President Ziaur Rahman patronised Boyati and established him in the cultural arena.
