Liaquat Ali Lucky: New laurels for the theatre activist

An elated Lucky says, 'The title is prestigious. For the last 12 years, the Governor of Toyama Prefecture has been observing my theatre work and has given me this honour. Japan is endowed with a rich cultural heritage. The Japanese have a highly developed aesthetic sense as well. I think we should exchange thoughts from the Far Eastern countries and the African nations to enrich our culture. The western countries are culturally behind the Eastern and African culture,' says Lucky.
In his recent tour of Japan, People's Theatre Association, headed by Lucky, has taken part in the Asia-Pacific Children Drama Festival--2004, in Toyama City, Japan. Participating countries appreciated his production. Lucky says, 'We have got huge response from the audience. We were also complimented in our earlier shows in Cuba and USA. this year.'
