Liberation War in cartoons
However, not many people know much about the role of cartoon, pictures and reports published in different newspapers during the war. The upcoming TV programme Byangochitrey Muktishongram is therefore unique as it highlights 100 cartoons that were published during the Liberation War with clear messages against the enemies.
Many artists from home and abroad sketched these cartoons and published them in many international newspapers, sometimes using their names, some times anonymously or under pseudonyms. A major attraction is likely to be cartoons by Nobel Peace Prize Winner Dr Muhammad Yunus.

The history of Liberation War, the activities of anti Liberation force, intolerable brutality, massacres, and the refugee situation during the war are also to be discussed through these cartoons.
Byangochitrey Muktishongram is planned, researched and scripted by Zobaida Nasreen and produced by Zillur Rahman. The programme will be aired on December 16 on ATN Bangla at 8:00pm.
