What should be the ideal focus of drama?
As a humble playwright, I feel that our plays should reflect a true picture of our society. They should mirror states of mind such as sorrow, happiness, peace, love and service to humanity. True drama is also poetry in action. The core philosophy of our drama, I believe, can exercise a shaping influence on our lives and may lead global theatre to its desired goal.
What is your impression about our stage plays?
In my opinion, integrity has been possible to a greater degree on our stage than on wide screen and the small screen. Eminent directors of stage plays have introduced indigenous art forms perfectly and more effectively than electronic media. And thus they have successfully replaced so-called dramatic tension and speed of European plays

Many prominent drama personalities of the country like Abdullah Al Mamun, Ferdausi Majumdar, Khalil and others were introduced as radio drama artistes in the plays produced by me. Actors Abul Hayat, Humayun Faridy, Shampa Reza and others were introduced in TV plays produced by me.
What is your idea of life?
Life, to me, is not a story told by an idiot full of sound and fury signifying nothing. Life is doing something, achieving something really meaningful and purposeful and permanent in this very temporary world of ours.
How do you define love?
To me, it is the end result of knowing each other, admiring the qualities and agreeing with the other to share the experience of life.
