Lokonatyadal theatre festival ends

The theatre festival was inaugurated by eminent dramatist Syed Shamsul Haque on November 10 at the Experimental Theatre Stage. Majhrater Manushera was staged at the opening day. Abdus Selim has adapted the play from Gau Seng's Nocturnal Wanderer.

Later the festival shifted from the Experimental Theatre Stage to Central Konchi Kancha Auditorium. Lucky, the secretary general of Lokonatyadal said, "Because of the Saarc programme, we had to change the venue. On November 11 we staged two shows of our popular play Kanjush. Kanjush is an adaptation from French legendary playwright JBP Moliere's comedy The Miser. Tariq Anam Khan has adapted the play, which has reached the 471 show record. We again staged Majhrater Manushera on November 12, at the Konchi Kancha Auditorium in honour of visiting NSD Chairperson Amal Allana. She was quite impressed with the postmodern play. The last show of the festival was Shiddhidata."

On the response to the festival, Lucky said, "A sizeable audience came each day despite the strict security for the Saarc summit."
