Martyr Muneir Chowdhury Award and Zakaria Smrity Padak-06 announced
Theatre, a leading theatrical group, gives out two awards annually-- Martyr Muneir Chowdhury Award and Zakaria Smrity Padak-- to honour and inspire the theatre activists of the country. Yesterday, on the 80th birth anniversary of martyr Muneir Chowdhury, Theatre announced the names of the winners of the awards at Mahila Samity Stage.
Nikhil Sen, a pioneer theatre activist of Barisal, is the winner of Martyr Muneir Chowdhury Award-2006 and young theatre talent Aminur Rahman Mukul is the winner of Zakaria Smrity Padak-2006.
Professor Kabir Chowdhury was in the chair at the award giving ceremony, in which Bazlur Rahman, the editor of The Daily Sangbad, was the chief guest. Theatre personalities of the country were present at the prestigious award giving ceremony.
