Masum Reza's script is based on the illegal women trafficking which is now one of the major problems of the world. Playwright Masum Reza said, ‘Meenkanya is a play to create awareness among the people. Though we are involved with different theatrical groups we have worked together with a common goal to achieve something for the society. The director of the play Pijush Bandopadhyay is from Dhaka Theatre, I am from Desh Natok, and even the artistes are from different groups. There might have been a few problems in co-ordination, but on the whole it is a successful play aimed at solving the enormous problem.'

Pijush Bndopadhyay said, 'It is totally a camp based production, which is not common in Bangladesh. In the production, we have tried to emphasise on our culture, however, in some cases we have blended some western ideas also. I got enough response from my teammates, which is why it was possible for me to carry on with the work smoothly. I know there were many aspects, which could be developed. However, I am pleased with the performance of Deepta Rokshit as Churi Buri and Jayasree Kar as Manjela.'
