Four video films released on DVD

Four video films written by Anisul Haque and directed by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki were released on DVD and VCD. The launching ceremony of 'Shehnai Movie Express' was held on Friday last at the Russian Cultural Centre at Dhanmondi, with the release of these popular tele-dramas:Ainamahal (House of Mirrors), Protyabartan (The Return), Kanamachhi (The Hitchhiking Game),andProti Chunia (To Chunia). These films were previously shown on different television channels and were immensely popular. There has long been a demand of these TV dramas on DVD and VCD formats. Now 'Shehnai Movie Express' has been launched to meet audience demand.

The launching ceremony was attended by eminent cultural and literary personalities of the country, namely, poet Belal Chowdhury, educationists Dr Syed Manzoorul Islam and Dr Muhammad Zafar Iqbal and journalist Sajjad Sharif. They unwrapped the covers of these four tele-dramas. They emphasised on the importance of collaboration and team-work in producing creative works in such a composite medium like television.

M A Bashir Bhuiyan, the man behind the 'Shehnai Movie Express' has long been interested in bringing out popular and quality TV dramas on DVD and VCD. This was his first venture which he would like to continue.

The launching ceremony were also attended by writer Anisul Haque, director Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, artistes Shrabonti, Marzuk Russell and others. Two of the tele-dramas Protyabartan and Kanamachhi were screened after the ceremony, which were well appreciated by a packed audience.
