Mim: A talent to watch for
Stepping into the entertainment media through music, she says, "It all started when I began getting offers to act in plays. It was partially my mother's decision that I opt for acting rather than singing, and I wholeheartedly took her advice and turned towards acting."
Mim initially worked in many plays in minor roles. But she considers Attmaja as the beginning of her acting career. Till date, she has acted in about 200 or more plays, she says. Her first breakthrough performance as a mature actress was through the drama Atripto Kamona by Kazi Nazrul Islam in 1999.

Critics have appreciated her performance in a special drama serial Rubaier Dairy, written by Rabeya Khatun and directed by Saidul Anam Tutul. "It was a moving story based on the Liberation War," says Mim. She is hopeful about the present trend of social movies and will "definitely grab the offer" to act in films, provided she gets the right offer from a good filmmaker. "I hope to take a conventional career path and simultaneously continue with my acting," concludes Mim.
