Moha moja pitha fiesta at Prabartana

The members of the weekly Adda, (held at the shop), divided into 13 stalls, displayed their skills in making winter cakes or pitha. Rice flour, made from newly harvested paddy, grated coconut, milk, date-juice and molasses are the components of this delectable cuisine.

The stalls were named after Bangladeshi birds such as Doyel, Bulbuli, Machhranga, Chandona, Kokil, Tuntuni, Shyama, Koyel, Tiya and many more and exhibited a wide range of home made pithas. Jamai Pitha, Gurer Payesh, Chandrapuli, Dudh Puli, Hridoy Haran Pitha, Mugh Pakan, Chhainna Pitha, Jhal Pitha, Mera Pitha and countless other mouth watering delicacies tempted the visitors who made a beeline to the shop through out the day.

Elaborate programmes were chalked out: from music and quiz contests, to recipe competitions, which continued throughout the day.

The yearly event has gained a huge following in the city.
