Musical bonanza at Bengal Shilpalaya

At the inaugural ceremony winners of the talent hunt Bengal Bikash performed patriotic songs. The following four days saw the launching of several solo albums featuring different artists.

On December 24 Neel Jamunar Jol by Jannat-e-Ferdousi (Nazrul Sangeet), on December 25 Kachhey Thekey Duur Rochilo by Mahiuzzaman Chowdhury (Rabindra Sangeet), on December 26 Barota Peyechi Mon-e Mon-e by Aditi Muhsin (Ranbindra Sangeet) and on December 27 Chhilo Chaand Megher Parey by Khayrul Anam Shakil (songs of yesteryears) were launched. On the last day of the festival i.e. December 28, Sharthi Chattapadhyaya will perform classical music.

Each evening after the album launch, singers rendered different songs from their albums. Mahiuzzaman Chowdhury rendered songs of Rabindranath Tagore on December 25. With a soulful voice he entertained the jam packed audience with songs like Kachey thekey duur, Borshonmondrito ondhokarey, Tumi robey nirobey, Rudrobeshey kemon khela, Ami Chanchal hey, Tumi e par o par, Tumi kon bhangoner and Jeeboney amar joto anondo. All these songs are featured in his latest album.
