Singing 'no' to drugs

Several prominent cultural activists of the country like Selim Al Deen, Anisul Haq, Salam Saqlain, Aupi Karim and others were present on the occasion. The speakers tried to make the students aware of the evils of drug abuse and also encouraged them to say 'No' to drugs.

Shamim Shahed was the host of the music show, where the vocalist of the popular musical group Bangla, Anushey, came on stage to narrate the story of her past when she was a drug addict. Her mother Lubna Mariam followed next on stage and narrated the anguish of a mother when her child got addicted to drugs.

In the concert, Mahmud-uzzaman Babu presented the patriotic piece Aami Banglar Gaan Gai with an acoustic guitar, capturing the hearts of the audience. Anushey followed next on stage, with her husband Buno. A spell bound audience watched the performers. Anushey presented songs from her first and latest album. Prometheus, the last band of the show, received a lukewarm reaction from the audience.
