Shudhin Das is one of the select Nazrul singers who enriched this genre of music with the singing style and gayaki. Born on 1930 in Comilla, Shudhin Das is proficient in the field of Rabindranath Tagore, Atul Prashad, DL Ray, Rajanikantho, Mukul Das, Hason Raja and Lalon Shah. About 20 books on notation of Nazrul songs by this veteran singer have been published by Nazrul Institute and Bangla Academy so far. As the recognition of his immense contribution to Nazrul songs he has received many prestigious awards including Shaheed Altaf Mahmud Memorial Gold Medal in 1985, Nariruddin Gold Medal in 1987, Ekushey Padak in 1988, Zebunnessa Mahbubullah Trust Gold Medal in 1992 and Nazrul Medal in 1999.
