Mustafa Monwar, the famous puppeteer, telling marvellous stories to children at Galpoghar's first event

Mustafa Monwar started the session with the story of a prince, a princess and a monster. The participating children enlivened the story by playing the major roles. Later, in the puppet show, popular character Gittu, created by Mustafa Monwar, appeared on stage with his humorous dialogues. Gittu conveyed the message of the deleterious effects of watching too much satellite television to the responsive children. Gittu also appealed to the children to help the flood affected people by donating money 'for chocolates'. The children responded positively at once.

At the end of the puppet show, a puppet farmer informed the children about the benefits of green vegetable, which was educational and entertaining for the children. Finally, the children took part in the feast with traditional Bangali dishes like Papor, Katkati and Pitha made from coconuts and ground rice.

The second session of the programme, scheduled to be held on Sunday and conducted by Aly Zaker, was cancelled due to the fierce bomb blast in the city the day before.
