Shilpi, Mina and Shawpna came all the way from Charka Handicrafts of Jessore to attend the BSCIC Nakshikantha fair. These three youths are very much optimistic about the sale and profit from their stall. According to Shilpi they have enough exposure for their products and are hopeful of getting orders of big amount. This fair is expected to be very fruitful for the cottage industries.

Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) has organised a 5-day-long Nakshikantha exhibition at its design centre at Motijheel. About eleven stalls are exhibiting and selling their products such as bed cover, night gowns, t-shirts, kanthas, panjabees, 'three-piece', bags, cushion cover and , wall-hangings all on Nakshikanthas at the fair. This is the first ever arrangement by the design centre where small industry owners from Bogra, Jessore, Jamalpur, Tangail, Dhaka and other districts have come to attend the fair. The price of the products range from Tk. 20 to Tk. 4500.

The objective of the exhibition, according to the chief designer of the centre, Kamal Uddin Ahmed, is to exhibit the Nakshikantha from different parts of the country and popularise these products which is an integral part of our culture. The change in the designs, texture and composition has made the Nakshikanthas more attractive, modern and developed from that of the past.

The show is open for all from10 am to 7 pm everyday.
