Nashid Kamal's four decades in music

The programme was presided over by music exponent Azad Rahman. The special guest at the event was Nashid's father former chief justice Mostafa Kamal. Among others, Nashid's mother professor Hosne Ara Kamal, folk music exponent Mostafa Zaman Abbasi, Nazrul artistes Khalid Hossain, Shaheen Samad, veteran artiste Ferdousi Rahman and singer Shakila Zafar were present.

The guests talked about Nashid's achievements as an artiste and a solo performance by the singer was the attraction of the event. The minstrel started her performance with a patriotic song composed by Azad Rahman, Amar desher dhoolikona roktey royechhe mishey. Other folk and Nazrul songs rendered by Kamal were: Shaono raatey jodi, Arun ranga golap koli, Ami potho monjori, Dikey dikey, Padmadighir dharey, Nodir naam shoi, Amar goheen ganger naiyya and O amar dorodi.

The performance was wrapped up by Nashid's rendition of Namazi tor namaz jey holo bhul.
