The nation-wide search for stars finally to take off

Once again this year, both amateur musicians and music lovers are looking forward to the nation-wide music contest, being organised by British American Tobacco. After a long process of evaluations through demo tapes, live auditions and regional contests, a final list of musicians has been made, who will be performing and contesting each other at the annual Benson & Hedges Star Search contest to be held shortly.

Contesting bands selected from all over the country, namely Biloy, Stream and Kamol from Dhaka; Desert, Wills and Sustain from Chittagong; Convert and Shoraya from Rajshahi, and Beduin from Khulna.

Solo contestants include M. Rashed Uddin, Humayera Jenny and Rabeya Sulata from Chittagong; Nigar Sultana Shumi and Sabiha Sultana Sharmi from Khulna; M. Rezaul Karim and M. Shamsuzzaman Sumon from Rajshahi.
