Natun Kuri 2003 prize distribution
The prize distribution of the National Television Child Artistes Award Natun Kuri 2003 was held at the Bangladesh Television auditorium last Monday. Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia gave away the prizes among the winners. About 170 children were awarded in 35 categories whereas the total number of the participating children was 17342. The categories included songs, dance, acting, recitation, story telling and painting which had been divided into different sections like general, folk and classical.
Khaleda Sultana Shurobhi who received three gold medals in folk dance, classical and won the gold cup in Ka section whereas Bidrum Purakayastha won the gold cup in Kha section for winning the gold medals in two categories like story telling and recitation.
A documentary on the history of Natun Kuri was screened and a cultural programme by the award-winning children was staged after the prize distribution ceremony. Decorated with fresh as well as artificial flowers the stage wore a gorgeous look. Among the songs, dances, recitation and other performances a short play, Dress as You like, written by celebrated author Humayun Ahmed ,was highly applauded by the audience. Dances titled Rainbow, Butterfly, classical dance, tribal dance , directed by Munmun Ahmed were appreciated by the select audience.
